When the Iditarod is mentioned, it seems everyone knows that it is a long race. When the Yukon Quest is mentioned there are, understandably, a lot of blank stares. The Yukon Quest doesn’t get as much press as the Iditarod but it is just as big in the mushing community. Nearly 1000 miles often in very cold temperatures is what can be found in this race. If you’d like to learn more you should check out http://www.yukonquest.com or their Facebook page here.
One of the mushers that guides for Gold Rush Dog Tours, Inc. is currently running in the Yukon Quest. She is doing very well so far and we have high hopes for her. Her determination and her effort will definitely push her through will propel her for years. If you’d like to learn more about her you should take a look at her site here.
So, if you like the dog sledding and huskies, you should check out the Yukon Quest, Abbie West, and, soon to be starting, the Iditarod.
