Running dogs and singing songs are two of Joe’s passions. He has been working five years in the company, and enjoys his new home at Gold Rush summer dog camp Juneau after a great time up in Skagway in 2010. After a 12,000 mile road trip last winter, Joe and his two pet dogs Tut and Ketza are happy to be in one place for a little bit. Joe is running dogs from Kim Trickett who lives north in Willow, AK.
Happy to be on the hard ground and in the woods again, Joe has been a tour guide on both of the companies glacier camps, as well as spent a few winter’s handling and touring sled dogs in Wyoming, Michigan, The Yukon, and here in Alaska. He is currently writing a book about microbreweries, choosing two from each of the fifty states, and writing about the travels and stories thus far in his life. In his downtime, Joe can be found downtown at the Alaskan Bar and Hotel every Thursday night playing guitar, or crocheting hats with his beautiful girlfriend Erin. Follow Joe and his adventures on his blog at beerman.blogspot.com. Joe looks forward to another year at the the most beautiful place on Earth; the majestic Sheep Creek valley.
