Tim Pappas, 28, moved to Alaska to work with sled dogs in 2013 after working for Iditarod veteran Billy Snodgrass. He previously worked for Alaska Icefield Expeditions guiding dog sled tours on the Mendenhall Glacier and now guides for Gold Rush Sled Dog Tours outside of Juneau. Tim apprenticed for two years under 4 time Iditarod champion Martin Buser. While there, he raised and trained a team of puppies and raced them in the 2016 Iditarod, finishing in 11 days, 6 hours, 15 minutes and 4 seconds.
